"Say What You Need To Say"

We went to see John Mayer this last week. We bought tickets forever ago because we were super excited about it. Ben and I think it was good, but not AWESOME. He went last year and he said it was much better then. Colbie Caillat opened up for him this year and last year it was Maroon 5 so Ben liked that better, but I enjoyed listening to Colbie Callait. I've actually never been to a concert before, unless you count Collin Raye up at BYU-I, good times! So it was fun if you forget how hot it was sitting out there waiting for it to start, how annoying the drunk people were behind us, and how freakin long it took us to get out of the parking lot after it was over. Guess we are just not the partying concert people we thought we could be :)

SO fun

This afternoon we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for dinner. I was really looking forward to seeing them because they were gone for SO long in New York. When we pulled into the cul de sac we saw Bryan and Camille's car in the driveway so i was even MORE excited. Bryan and Camille and their two kids are in town for a few weeks for Bryan's internship so its been nice to spend some time with them. They live too far away from us so we don't get to see them a whole lot.

My parents brought me back this T-shirt. No, Ive never been to New York but at least I fit in with the girls :)

I made it....

This last week my time in the system at work was clocked in as "vacation" but that is NOT what I was doing. I had a week long class at the U from 8-5 everyday. That wasn't the worst part though. I had to ride Trax there to save on gas and that required me to wake up every morning by 6am in order to be at the Trax station by 7. And that was with me showering the night before. I was feeling pretty picked on until I got to class and heard that some of my classmates were traveling from Ogden to be there everyday. Yikes! However early it was, it was a pretty interesting class. We basically did a lot of group work and practiced being a "therapist". It was kind of scary to realize that in a year from now I will be getting ready to graduate and get a "real" job. We'll see how that pans out I guess. So now I need to try and enjoy what I have left of this summer as school starts again August 25th. Back to school, back to school...
I didn't pose this shot at all, this is the way I dumped my backpack on the couch and this is probably where it will stay until August 25th. :)

Wii Babysitting

Dad, Mom, Becca, Aaron, and Emilee-
Please come home...

My family has been gone for over two weeks now and I am missing them dearly! I know I don't live at home anymore but just knowing that they are 20 minutes away or less is always comforting. They are in New York now on vacation and I am really looking forward to them coming home this week. There has been some good to come of them leaving however. They agreed to let Ben "babysit" the Wii while they are gone. It has been hard to keep his mind off of it since it has been in our house. I have enjoyed playing it a little here and there but I'm really not much of a video game gal. Ben has now become a Pro Bowler(thats probably his favorite game). He is also working very hard to beat Aaron's scores on Guitar Hero. Why is it that boys are naturally good at video games? I have tried SO hard to beat Ben at Mario Kart but its hopeless, I always come in a second behind. So i give up. Mom and Dad come home, we are ready for you :)

Holiday Weekend

Our family has had a very much needed relaxing weekend! I'll admit i was very depressed Thursday night because we didn't have any plans for the 4th. My family is out of town on vacation and Ben's parents have been on a LONG vacation since they are temple presidents in Mexico. So it was up to Ben and I to entertain ourselves and since moving into our house Ben is always wanting to work on the next house project, ugh. So with a little convincing he agreed to let us put work aside this weekend and we just enjoyed our time together. We went swimming Friday afternoon. I have been dying to go swimming all summer so Ben was a trooper and we went to the Cottonwood Heights Pool. It was super crowded but we got our swimming in. We also went to Murray Park in the evening for the fireworks show. I had heard that Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband were going to be playing there but they must have canceled because there was this lame acapella group there. It was nice to just be out in the cool weather though and it wasn't as crowded as we thought it would be. Saturday was a great day too, we slept in til nearly 11. I haven't done that forever but it was nice. We did get some saturday work done around the house but it wasn't so bad. Then we called it day and ordered pizza and a got a movie. It's been great and I've only had to yell at Ben for being naughty a few times. I love my man and I love being married. Happy Independence Day!
